On Wednesday, January 17, 2024, Regulatory Decree no. 1/2024 was published in the Official Gazette, which updates the regulation of the legal regime for the entry, stay, exit and removal of foreign citizens in Portugal, adapting it to the extinction of the SEF, which gave way to the current AIMA, I.P., and proceeding with the modernization and simplification of administrative procedures relating to visas and residence permits in Portugal. This Briefing highlights some of the main changes brought about by the above referred Regulatory Decree.
